Meme Monday Guidelines:

We’re excited to announce a special event for Elriel month where this sub can share funny, creative and relatable memes centered around Sarah J. Maas books and, of course, Elriel content. Meme Monday is meant to be lighthearted, fun and a way for r/ElrielFans to laugh together!

Before we create & post, we do want to set a few clear expectations:

• Please warn fellow users of any memes containing spoilers for the Crecent City or Throne of Glass series.

• No anti-Elriel memes or content meant to mock, belittle or undermine Elriel as a pairing allowed (this is the Elriel sub ofc).

• Please avoid memes targeting opposing ships, ship wars, or content created solely to insult other characters, ships, or fandom spaces given we do have some sensitive lurkers. There is some latitude to this because there is poking fun at other pairings and theories without crossing the line into bullying. Some examples of that will be included by a moderator. Use discretion. 🫶🏼

Our goal is to encourage humor and creativity, memes are often playful and shouldn’t be taken as anything other than a joke. We want this Meme Monday to stay fun, welcoming, and enjoyable for everyone participating in the Elriel community.

Feyre and Rhysand’s bond snapped into place at the end of ACOTAR. After that she went back to live with Tamlin and Lucien. Despite multiple visits from Rhysand, there is no indication Tamlin, Lucien, Ianthe, or anyone else living there scented the bond. When Feyre went to stay with Rhysand, barring Amren, again there is no indication of anyone being able to scent the bond be it Azriel, Cassian, or Keir. In fact, the only evidence is to the contrary. "Do the others know?"

"Amren and Mor do. Azriel and Cassian suspect." If Azriel and Cassian could scent the bond the way Azriel can smell Elain’s, they wouldn’t just suspect they’d KNOW. From this, I think it’s safe to conclude no normal fae could smell Feysand’s bond until it was ACCEPTED. Amren did but she was a different sort of creature which could explain how she was able to smell a snapped but unaccepted bond when others can’t.

Now, looking at Elain and Lucien’s bond in particular, again there are no signs anyone can smell it. Feyre never mentions it. Cassian never mentions it. Nesta never mentions it. Thats not proof they don’t smell it, but it is interesting to only have one character mention the scent.

Why can Azriel smell an unaccepted bond when that doesn’t seem to be the norm? Why can he smell it when he couldn’t smell Feysand’s?

It’s strong evidence something strange is going on.
