Yeah
How it feels meeting evangelion fans whose entire personality over Misato, Ritsuko, Rei, or Asuka without actually getting a grasp on the concept of the very show and how even though you agree that said fictional characters are sexually attractive you should not make that your whole personality. About the same as people whos entire personality is their porn addiction Furthermore 2 of the characters are minors so while theres not really much wrong with fantasizing about a fictional character said fantasies often cause people to do bad things in the real world so the question becomes what is the true moral boundary in which case it becomes more of a philosophical debate upon what truly harms and individual whether it’s direct harm or psychological harm it’s about the same as when we were younger and we had a crush on our older sister, I mean that’s a part of life, but you should not make that your entire personality let alone go with it and set Avenga on fans due act on such a sexual desire, proving themselves to have no true impulse. The fact being that several people can agree that a character is sexually attractive that doesn’t mean it’s the point of the show. so the more you think about it, this feels as though it is some horrible and result of the failures of a repeatedly, horrible economic system, one that by nature exploits, the American worker in the corporate profits by continuing to subscribe and purchase more and more hoping to fulfill, said desire you never end up finding true peace you end up just enriching others while making yourself poor. Material wealth is an entirely abstract concept true wealth comes within the heart. And so looking at fictional characters through a sexualized lens will not get you anywhere when I was 28 years old in the summer of 2009 I started my position as a Senate staffer in Washington DC. This was around the time that I first got into Evangelion. So I walked in carrying my laptop one day my MacBook had an Asuka tight suit sticker on it. I was typing something in a Microsoft Word file at my desk when a republican staffer for Senator George Voinovich walked in and immediately commented “damn she’s hot“ I quickly responded with “she’s 14“ to which he replied “I don’t care that’s a fictional character“ from that moment, I realized the mindset of so many casual people that crosses party line. Here is a man who was probably very ideologically different from myself commenting that he had a similar taste of women to me. Overtime I have begun to realize that things like anime women can unite us, but that’s a double edge sword so when I see said people who fantasize about characters and make it their entire personality, I do think it is cringe worthy.
