From the 12th September Incident, to the Turkish Civil War, Republic of Turkey stands as a nation divided.

So, what happened?

Quick Timeline.

Late 1970s were a turbulent time in the Turkish Politics, As socialist SİP slowly got in charge. And, they would eventually win the elections(with some "help") in 1977.

This wont come cheap, as the rising bureaucratic class, which they have locked down the government before, and this time they would try to do it as well. Which leads us to the....

12th September Incident

12th September incident(tr: Oniki Eylül Olayı) was an attempt by the Kemalist bureaucracy(White Turks) and their supporters in the Army to take over the government from the Socialists right after the elections. Unfortunately, this would eventually fail, leading to the Closing of the CHP.

Turkish Political Screen.

Government couldnt afford to purge most of the government, because of this, they would "compromise" with white turks in order to gain legitimacy. This compromise would eventually led to the Turkey's alleigance with the Europeans and the Turkish Civil War. Political landscape wont change much since then, with SİP legitimizing their rule by banning rest of the parties and more "compromizes" with the White Turks.

Modern Turkish Politics.

The year is 2010. A Contractor from the occupied Trabzon got his projects rejected. He sues, but doesnt manage to change anything.

Few years later, he would Enter into poliitics, as an independent candidate in the local municipal elections.

And the rest is history.

Imamoglu and the rise of the Cumhuriyetçi Cephe shouldnt be a suprise to many. Economic crisis would hit the nation(Spirit not implemented yet) due to planning failiures and the privitization efforts. Him and many others, which included various local figures, would join his cause for a free-er Turkey. White Turks would also give most of their support, making them one of the lead opposition "party" in the country.

The assasination attempt on Ferdi Zeyrek(No portrait yet) would lead people to symphatise with the movement more.

Cemil Tugay, another leader of the CC.

Last year, Republican Front(Cumhuriyetçi Cephe) has once again won the majority of the municipalities. However, the SİP also has cards on their sleeves that they havent been revealed yet. But it is certain: Republicans wont kneel down to any opression, for they are determined to change it.
