My wife is pregnant with our first, and was diagnosed with gestational diabetes which we have managed with diet and night time insulin because morning numbers were always a little higher.

Other than diabetes, everything has been going well, but at our appointment today he noted that the abdomen was measuring about 37 weeks and the rest of the measurements were at 34 weeks, he raised concerns about shoulder dystocia and that scared the hell out of us. My wife would like to try for a vaginal birth but now we're worried.

38 weeks pregnant and baby is otherwise estimated at 6.2lbs 31st percentile

Anyone here have experience with a similar situation?
