I am a student learning data science. My coursework from college helps me with the theory. But, I always had difficulties translating the theory into practice. I created a claude code setup called "sensei". It uses socratic method of learning to teach you practical stuff by asking you questions and not giving you direct answers. Eventually making you to find the answer yourself. This is helping me a lot compared to traditional coding courses and this socratic way is proven to improve critical thinking and better understanding. So, if you guys want to check out here it is...

So, I am no longer a part the of college. When I was there, the importance of academics where slim to none. I can literally bet 7/10 people from my batch are gonna graduate in AIDS with above 8 pointer and can't even code in python or much worst can't even name all the traditional ML algos (Forget about explaining). If it weren't this college most of them wouldn't be carrying this much cgpa or would have gotten better theory knowledge. Everyone just memorized the discourse and vomited the answers at the exams. Most of the question were either copy-pasted from internet or GPT and most of them are half-baked. For eg : One time I caught a question in my deep-learning paper that is being clearly copy-pasted from the internet(javatpoint website) and even that copy-paste wasn't good enough they copy-pasted the question without the scenario. I was like "WTF". The question is literally half-cooked !!! and don't get me started with the answer keys they weren't cooked at all :(

That's not the student's fault or the teacher's, rather it's the college. If there were proper academic classes throughout the year and proper labs assessments and especially compulsory teaching !!.. It would have been a lot better... Student would have learnt properly and Teachers would have prepared properly....

So, the point is the academics is a clear zero, when we were there and I'm wondering if that's being improved for the upcoming batches. Mostly I want to know about DS/ML dept. Is there compulsory classes yet ?? Is the teaching getting any better are they teaching core math concepts properly (Linear Algebra, Probability & Stats, Optimization techniques) or they are just teaching it for the sake of exams ?? and Mainly what about the lecture materials and the question papers are they improving ?? or Is there any improvement at all from what I described above ??

Thanks in advance !!
