Dental implant journey
Hi everyone I thought I’d share the start of my dental implant journey with yall!
To begin I used to have really bad teeth in high school! I was able to get braces and was really happy. Obviously once everyone gets their braces off, the first thing you do is wanting to whiten your teeth 😂 and so I did. I would notice one of my front tooth would not whiten at all! I didn’t think anything of it besides that it was just really stained, so I thought. I want to preface that after I got my braces removed I had lost my health/dental insurance and so once I finally got insurance again and was able to go to a dentist they asked if I had any trauma to my front teeth because one of my tooth was dead which was tooth #9. I told them no but I did have braces so I believe that could be the reason why. I did go with the shittiest orthodontists at the end of the day *cough* western *cough* dental.
Well anyways I pushed off having my tooth like that but eventually it just started to get more yellow which made me insecure but not only that, it also started to become loose despite me wearing my retainers. I now decided to just go for an implant and I am excited for this journey. We extracted tooth #9 today and did bone graft as well
Pictures shown above 😊
#1: this was my teeth before braces, see how tooth #9 was super ugly lol. Trust me I got made fun of a lot as a kid
#2: X-ray showing my dead tooth
#3: this picture shows I had grade 2 mobility on the tooth. It would always get loose everytime I was without my retainer
#4: top pic shows how my smile looked before with the yellow tooth and bottom shows my new smile with my stay plate, sorry some blood is shown as I did just have procedure done today and my gums were bleeding 😊
