Just lost out on ~$300 because I forgot to bill for materials on a job last week

I opened my bank account earlier and felt like I was missing a few bucks, so I did a quick run through my transactions to categorize everything and realized I screwed myself on a job from last Tuesday. I was called for a job to fix a leaking kitchen faucet. After I was done, the client asked me if I could help him get a smart deadbolt on his front door, and patch up a couple of holes in the living room drywall. I said yes to it, bought all the extra stuff I needed, finished the job, got my pay. Problem is, I've noticed now that the invoice I sent was just based on my hours and the flat rate for the faucet fix. I've forgotten to add the materials needed for the extra job which adds up to $285. The client was nice and all but I feel like it's way too late and unprofessional to ask for that now so yeah. Guess all that's gone.

What do you hate most about the job?

Just wanted to rant a bit but man I can't stand the administrative / office side of the business. I'd genuinely take a day of crawling under a leaky kitchen sink over doing paperwork after a long day out. Piecing together home depot receipts, itemizing random hardware, drafting invoices ALL at home when I just want to relax. It makes it feel like I’m never actually off the clock.

Anyways you guys can probably tell I just had a long day. What about you guys, what's the thing you hate most about the job? I'm guessing most of it has to do with certain types of clients lol

Homeowner refused to pay the extra $500 for subfloor rot repairs. What can I do?

So I was doing an LVP install for a laundry room and I found the subfloor around the washer drain was mush and rotted. I told the homeowner I couldn't lay the new floor and that it'd cost an additional $500 for the repairs. She told me that it's fine to go ahead so I did.

Fast forward and I finished the job, handed her the bill and she's refusing to pay the additional fee. Now of course I have a down payment but that's only about 50% of the LVP install, not the unexpected additional fee. She also paid me the remaining fee after, just not the additional subfloor rot repair cost. Is there anything I can actually do here? $500 feels too small for a lien or a claim but it doesn't feel right to me.
