RC Post OP question
So my dad isn’t on any pain meds. He’s been acting a bit strange according to my mom. He really wanted food. Now he just wants liquids.
He doesn’t want to talk to anyone. Use his phone. Watch tv. Or anything he usually likes.
He was talking about if time went by every 2 seconds instead of 1 second it would be more efficient but stopped and my mom replied, “because time would go by faster?” and he replied slowly, “yeah I guess.”
We’re both confused.
Did anyone else feel this way after their surgery?
They moved my Dad out of ICU today. Update.
They moved him out of ICU! He still has a tube in his nose. He is getting it removed tomorrow. He is allowed ice chips. So he is very happy about that. I finally got to FaceTime and talk to him. He looks good but he’s definitely exhausted. I didn’t talk long but he’s doing well. I think once he can move around and eat something he will get some energy.
He hasn’t eaten since last Tuesday evening. Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers. Hoping for no more issues and this is on the road to recovery. ❤️🩹
Leak on my dad’s ct scan after surgery. Going back in.
Well, dad will need to go back in to surgery at some point today or tomorrow. There is a leak that showed up on his CT scan this morning. They have to insert a tube and drain it to determine if it's urine or bowel. That happens this afternoon. He had another low blood pressure episode last night.
My dad just had a 9 hour surgery at UCLA
He had his prostate and bladder removed. Attempted at removing lymph nodes where cancer was but couldn’t due to fat. Then he opted for the urostomy bag.
Update from my mom today.
He was transferred to ICU this morning for low blood pressure and dizziness. They will be doing at CT scan to check for a possible bowel nick. His white blood count is bad, so he may have the beginning of sepsis. Lactic acid is 9.5. They may go back and open him up if they have to. Just not robotic. They are keeping a good eye on him. The cavalry is here is what dad said.
Update
He’s stable and was sleeping when they left this evening. They’ll be doing another CT scan tomorrow. The contrast didn’t go all the way down where they needed it to.
Thank you everyone for your prayers and well wishes. My family appreciates them all.

She has finally sat on my lap and actually got comfortable. She is almost two years old and hasn’t done this since I first got her. This is huge for her.
Stella has been making a lot of biscuits lately.
