Album Tier List (from an obsessed fan)
hello ! ive seen these being posted a ton, and I wanted to throw in my 2 cents. it has also been ordered within tiers. (yes, I am obsessed; i have almost 17.5k scrobbles/listens of weezer in a little over 9 months)
specific thoughts on some albums:
s tier:
I adore pinkerton (deluxe especially), and I have even written an essay about it for school. it is, by far, my favorite weezer album. my favorite song on pinkerton is falling for you, with across the sea being second.
I also really love ok human (am also planning an essay about it for school!). which is why it is above blue. I dont think i have a singular favorite song, but la brea tar pits is definitely up there.
blue is one of the albums that got me into weezer in the first place, but also just an incredible album in its own right. again, no particular favorite, but the world has turned / no one else duo is very good.
white is peak. I like it a lot, california kids and endless bummer are my current 2 favorites off of it. (though, I prefer the s&r version of california kids)
a tier:
I really love ewbaite (especially the futurescope trilogy; sooooo good), but im getting fatigued of listening to go away every other post....
b tier:
van weezer is just really fun to me! one more hit is definitely a guilty pleasure haha
I like green, and island in the sun is why i am into weezer. its a bit samey after the first half though
red is fine? I dont love it, but only a handful of its songs are mainstays on my playlist. same with maladroit, but maladrout suffers from the same-ness that green has.
c tier:
pacific daydream is on the cusp of b, but it just isn't as good as the b tier albums. I do like feels like summer and get right though.
make believe is only up there because of perfect situation and haunt you every day. the demos are a lot better tbh.
d tier:
for a musical fan, I just did not like sznz spring, just didnt feel anything like weezer
I tried listening to black, and I genuinely couldn't power through it, I got halfway through and I was done. can't knock the hustle is good, but, as with the rest of black, the swearing felt unnecessary.
raditude is ehhh. I want you to is good, im your daddy is weirdly good, but other than that 🤷♀️ dont really like it. cant stop partying is funny though.
