Hello everyone.
So, obviously economy sucks and as a result we really haven’t gone out to the movies much. But my fiancée was excited to see the new DWP movie and thought catching the Sunday matinee would be nice. We parked in the structure thinking that it’s Sunday, so parking is free and even if that doesn’t apply to the Emagine lot, they’re supposed to validate. So either, we’re good.
Well, as the title implies I was wrong. So first off. Couldn’t find a human to talk to as the only ones in the building were working concessions. Not a soul at the guest services or ticket line. Just a bunch of people standing around looking confused and needing help. So, figured well let me just test the kiosk outside before heading back to the car. Every kiosk I found was just powered off. My assumption then is, it’s Sunday so they probably just do that cause it’s free. At least that’s how it usually is when I park at the Lafayette lot I thought. Nope, wrong again. They make you drive up to the gate, and that’s when you’re informed that parking is still $5 and there’s a parade of cars behind you so they know you’re pressured and just want to go.
I know it’s just $5, but FUCK EMAGINE. I’m so sick of the greedy penny pinching and enshittification. This is clearly an intentional ploy and I will no longer support this garbage. We straight up would’ve just walked had we known. It’s a nice day, but I guess that’s what I get for assuming things should just work like normal. Thank you for coming to my rant, I guess we’ll just do MJR from now on.
