Fasting numbers are creeping up. How to get them back under control before insulin?

I am currently 29 weeks and 5 days pregnant. In my country the normal fasting number for pregnant women is 5.1 (I thought it was important to note because I’ve seen other users mention 5.3 as the cutoff). A few days ago I had a 5.2, which I attributed to lack of sleep that day. However, yesterday I had a fasting number of 5.2, and today it was 5.3. My diet hasn’t really changed since I was diagnosed at 25 weeks, so I’m not sure if this is normal or not. Do I need to somehow change my dinner or snack before sleep so as to lower my fasting numbers?

For dinner I usually have some brown rice or pasta with vegetables and chicken or beef. For snack I have a bit of cheese or some peanut butter on whole grain bread. I was told a few times I’m not supposed to cut out carbs completely, so I eat those that don’t spike my blood sugar.
