[Beginner] How to deal with the psychological damage of not being in Concert pitch?
Sort of a s***post, but also an honest question for the multi-instrumentalists here. I've been a guitarist for 15 years, and the trans(pos)ition to a tenor sax in Bb is mentally jarring. Does anyone who came from a guitar or piano background have tips on how to adapt? I know it's just a question of some mental math really, but if you've never played a guitar you have no idea how easy we have it in terms of scale memorization and learning things by ear. Could anyone who made the jump recommend any practice techniques or routines that help with the feeling of always playing the "wrong" note?
