My sweet potato is 13 years old with a laundry list of problems. She’s got arthritis and gets the Solensia shot monthly with her vet and along with a joint supplement shot. One of the things we were doing to help manage her pain tolerance is giving her a dose of gabipenton in the morning and evening. She is essentially just sleeping away and isn’t alert.

We had to switch up her meds for FLUTD and we reduced her gabipenton to 1x a day in the evenings. She’s being alert and all, but I can tell she’s in pain.

What would you do in this scenario? Keep her zonked out on gabipenton? There are alternatives to pain meds from her vet, but it would damage her kidneys even more.
