Reapplying to M7 after forfeiting deposit
Has anyone here ever made a deposit at an M7, then decided not to attend because a professional opportunity came up, and then reapplied the following year?
I’m trying to understand how M7 programs that do not allow deferrals tend to view this. I know the deposit is non-refundable, which is fine, but I’m more concerned about whether backing out after depositing materially hurts your chances of being readmitted the next cycle.
Would schools typically view this negatively and as a sign of poor commitment, or if the reason is a compelling professional opportunity and the rationale is clearly explained, is readmission still realistic? Especially if the deposit was paid, hopefully they still see that as genuine interest.
Would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has gone through this.
