Does anyone take less than a full course of antibiotics for pouchitis and how does that work for you? Do you take cipro, flagyl, or rifaxman? I just think the 10 days they prescribe is way too much.

I was curious as to how many people take a short dose instead of 10-day dose of antibiotics for pouchitis. When you feel it coming on do you take a few doses and then quit? How does that work for you?
For anyone who is fairly stable with their j-pouch surgery, (fully healed, maybe a few years in).... had to go on flagyl or Cipro a few times a year to keep bacteria overgrowth/pouchitis at bay?
