Why does he do this?? Is this concerning?

This is my uncle's cat, he does this every day at this exact wall, twists himself 180 degrees and then just lies there for up to an hour staring at something I can't see?? (we shave him like a poodle because the summers are very hot)

I am worried about his spine :( his spine already works so hard supporting his fat body. Is he bored/depressed?

South korea, 3yrs old boy, can afford vet

Edit: We didn't know shaving him was bad! I will let my uncle know, thank you!!

Cat has been through A LOT the last two weeks and his personality has changed, how do I know if he's okay?

Hello! I adopted a cat (4yr old) pretty recently (I knew him an his owner for a while), and it hasn't been easy for him. Here's what's happened in chronological order:

  1. Owner dies outside of home

  2. Animal control captures and takes him to the shelter the next morning

  3. Three day stay at the shelter

  4. Adopted by me and placed in completely new apartment

  5. Caught fleas from the shelter (resolved)

  6. Caught a flu from the shelter (resolved)

  7. Currently a little backed up

I am using the pumpkin puree and extra water approach for the constipation right now!

My concern is that his personality has changed. He used to be quite skiddish and unaffectionate with people he doesn't know. He rarely purred, used to be quiet, and he used to play a lot more.

Now he doesn't dart away when he hears a loud sound, when I introduce him to my friends he purrs and rubs on them (he used to dart away when he met new people), he meows at me a lot whenever I come back home, and he doesn't seem that interested in playing with toys anymore. He's also now just very chill, a little too chill? He allows me to pick him up whenever, never bites, never scratches, purrs every time I give him attention.

He's also eating like he's starving, I feed him 1/3 cup of Purina Indoor kibble in the morning and 2 servings of Sheba wet food, and as soon as I put the bowl down he eats everything immediately, and begs for more food throughout the day. Is he bored?

Are any of these new personality changes an indicator that something is wrong? I heard that it's really hard to tell if a cat is in pain but personality changes are a problem?
