Most reviews I see are pretty positive, but I’m curious if anyone had a different experience.
If you ended up not liking your PocketBook, what were the main reasons? Trying to get a balanced view before buying.

Hi all,
I’m based in Germany and trying to choose a forex trading platform, but I’m honestly getting a bit lost with how many options there are and all the rules around them.
From what I’ve seen, Germany is pretty strict when it comes to brokers, which is probably a good thing, but it also makes everything feel more complicated when you’re just trying to get started.
So far I understand that BaFin regulation is a big deal, or at least being properly regulated somewhere in the EU under MiFID/ESMA. There are also leverage limits for retail traders (like 1:30) and things like negative balance protection. I also noticed that some brokers aren’t actually based in Germany but still accept German clients through EU passporting.
I’d really prefer hearing from people who are actually trading instead of just relying on comparison sites.
What I’m looking for is a broker that’s either BaFin-regulated or properly regulated in the EU, has low spreads and clear fees, runs on a reliable platform like MT4, MT5 or cTrader, supports easy EUR deposits and withdrawals (SEPA would be ideal), and overall has a solid reputation without withdrawal issues.
A few things I’m still trying to figure out:
Do you think it’s better to go with a Germany-based broker or just any solid EU/international one?
In real trading, what matters more to you, spreads or execution speed?
Are there any tax or regulation quirks in Germany I should know about before starting? I saw something about capital gains taxes but not totally clear on it
And what are the main red flags you’d watch out for when picking a broker here?
I know the regulations are meant to protect traders, which is good, I just want to make a decent choice from the beginning.
Would really appreciate any insights from people trading in Germany.
My brother has been living with MS for a few years now, and over time he’s become less enthusiastic about leaving the house. It’s also started to affect his mood.
After talking it through with him, we recently got him a Paiseec L5 scooter. We mainly chose it because it’s relatively lightweight and has a design he thinks is cool, which made him more open to trying it. The biggest change over the past couple of weeks is that he’s started wanting to go outside again. Even if it’s just a short ride around the neighborhood, his mood and energy have improved.
I know everyone’s situation is different, but for my brother, just having that sense of being able to go out on his own again has made a real difference.
