Rare Pangolin spotted in Satpura Tiger Reserve. Pangolins are the most trafficked animal in the world so sighting like this is very rare and also very heartwarming.
Second batch of Wild water buffaloes released today in Kanha national park

After the successful release of 4 Wild Water Buffaloes on 28 April 2026, 4 more buffaloes were released today into the in-situ conservation area at Supkhar, Kanha Tiger Reserve, in the presence of Mrs. Samita Rajora, PCCF (Wildlife), Shri L. Krishnamoorthy, APCCF (Wildlife), Shri Ravindra Mani Tripathi, Field Director, and other Kanha officials.
Under the guidance of senior officers of the Madhya Pradesh Forest Department, a dedicated team of field staff and veterinary doctors successfully completed a ~2200 km conservation convoy to bring these animals back to their historic range.

4 wild water buffaloes (Bubalus arnee) are being traslocated from Kaziranga national park to Kanha national park. This capture and translocation is being done under the supervision of senior officers and experienced veterinary doctors from both Kaziranga and Kanha.
A total of 50 wild water buffaloes will be translocated to Kanha from Kaziranga as part of multi-year reintroduction program.
