Lowkey with this episode after thinking about it I can see a scenario where Ally outlasts Benji, especially with what Ally said in EP2 right before the vote upon revisiting that episode. She definitely has something in store for her this season and I can’t see her go soon. Plus she’s grown increasingly disillusioned with Benji not being locked in

Also from a thematic standpoint it makes sense honestly that Ally would get a decent run. It is Fans vs Favorites and Ally’s a character who has struggled with her public image and reception, a struggle that EP2 implies isn’t entirely gone

Aiden’s downfall was something that the Disventure Camp 5 narrative had been building up since Manu was voted out. Admittedly I may be biased to a degree with this post because I genuinely enjoyed Aiden and think that Disventure Camp 5 was his best season and also have been hanging around a lot with my Aiden moots on Twitter but I think that his elimination was not handled very well and failed to properly capitalize on the preceding buildup.

The number one issue with Aiden’s elimination is easily the pacing. Aiden being booted in EP8 was a good time for him to go but the pacing in the episodes immediately preceding this vote worsened. Aiden got a generous amount of focus in EPs 2, 3, and 4 though went UTR in EPs 6, 6, 7, and the first half of EP8. EP8 was crunched for time given the four performances but he definitely should have gotten something pre challenge. Perhaps the Benji and Ally scene could’ve been moved to EP9, and perhaps Aiden could have gotten more focus in (don’t laugh) EP6 and EP7. This isn’t helped by the way the pre-elimination Fans scene was written. It felt rushed kind of like the EP3 Manu scene.

The second issue I have with this elimination is that it wasn’t really touched on or alluded to much why he’s played up the attitude compared to previous seasons. I did hear that apparently one of the proofreaders said it’ll be touched on later in the season so I’ll wait until then for a final verdict but I think that stronger alluding to at least would have been beneficial. I think that it can be inferred that Aiden has some kind of inferiority complex given his two consecutive prior season losses and stunted acting career, but this really isn’t super concrete.

Thanks for reading this post if you have made it to this point lol. I am kinda just yapping here since I’m a bit crunched for time IRL rn so this isn’t the most cohesive or thought out post in the world but I do hope that the points I’ve raised are understandable.

I feel like the issue Aiden’s had in the past that’s unfortunately bled into DC5 is that he gets a lot of screentime yes but that screentime isn’t really utilized as well as it could be. Hopefully DC5’s Rescue Island / Comebacks and Motel episodes can fix some of the issues I’ve pointed out here.

Honestly I’d be open to most competing again in the eventual future under the right circumstances but I do think around half those characters in the top tiers probably don’t compete again

There are also a handful I believe should never compete again but definitely deserve to appear in a spinoff or comic series. I think that characters like a lot of the TomJake alumni genuinely were and are genuinely handled much better outside of the competition, and others like Alec or Tess would benefit far more from external appearances than another competition run

And then there’s Connor and Yul lmao

The Ally-Hannah interactions would feed families for generations

I am using after comebacks here because the show is pretty ambiguous about whether or not Benji and Richard became jurors upon their elimination or after their stay on Rescue Island concluded.

In a nutshell:

10th - Spencer. I think that if the Girls Alliance hadn’t been previously reformed that Spencer would definitely be dragged to the end as jury fodder. However with the Girls Alliance in play, I see him becoming a near-unanimous consensus boot in an effort not to create any bitter jurors out of the remaining nine.

9th - Marissa. I think that the Girls Alliance would implode here instead of the previous episode since Isabel will want to split the Ana-Marissa duo and Ana wouldn’t be as willing to go for Zaid or Logan since they are both her allies. I suspect that this vote would cause the Amelie-Hannah alliance to break as they disagree on who to target. Either way though Marissa is out both because of Isabel’s idol and because she’s the bigger social threat between the two.

8th - Zaid. Honestly I could see Jade be eliminated here but she does have her Vote Steal and this is also the episode where she first began her correspondence with Logan, so Logan doing what he does best and flipping is not at all out of the question, too.

7th - Hannah. In addition to already being a big social threat she’s also at this point in time won two immunities and damn near won a third. She’d likely be voted out near-unanimously. RIP queen.

6th - Logan. I think that at this point the Jade-Isabel-Logan-Natalia alliance effectively running the game up to now would break as Logan here is in many respects similar to Hannah. Jade would definitely blindside Logan here and I see most of the merged tribe willing to join.

5th - Natalia. Basically the canon Isabel elimination but with Jade using her Vote Steal to eliminate Natalia if it wasn’t played already. I think this point in time Jade and Isabel would want to sit next to either Amelie or especially Anastasia given the better jury odds. Could possibly also see an Amelie boot here.

4th - Depends on who wins immunity. I think that the possible scenarios are: Jade wins immunity and Isabel is voted out 3-1, Isabel wins immunity and there is a 2-2 tie between Jade and one of Amelie/Anastasia, or one of Amelie/Anastasia wins immunity and there’s a 2-2 tie between Jade and the non-immune player. I feel like Isabel honestly wouldn’t betray Jade given how much she was glazing her tbh 😭 I think that it’s up in the air which one of these scenarios occurs though for the sake of the post I went with the first.

Final Three also could go various ways though I think that in every scenario where Anastasia reaches Final Three, she’s the jury boot as in canon. With Spencer out, definitely be the goat (jury fodder) of the season dragged to the end for an easy advance to final two.

Ally has been super purpled and its sad 😭 the only episode where she really did anything was EP2 which honestly was one of her best episodes so far, but asides from that she’s been totally UTR and she’s had literally no progression with her arc since then
