~~Aside from seeing Nazuka in a pencil skirt and mesh tights~~, everything about the DeepSea Finance endings unnerved me

As me and a few twt oomfs were chatting, there's just something so emotionally meaningful about the existence of that route. there’s something bittersweet about a version of Nazuka who gave up part of herself for Tyrant and Tyrant alone. And the more I replay the bad endings, the more I actually started to feel unsettled seeing Secretary!Nazuka

I just want to start off this post with saying I really adore Nazuka's character, I really do. I enjoyed her serious and duty-first personality, her selfless and devoted side towards her friends, her adventurous and passionate energy for becoming a trekker, and even her reason for being one. As cute as her crush on Tyrant is to see at times, another thing I liked about her character is how contained it was. ~~How I am still able to fantasize about Freesia, Otaha, and Firenze~~, while still having moments of "Oh Nazuka, you're adorable"

So a version of her that just...gives up being a trekker to revolve around Tyrant’s life is kind of....saddening

Not necessarily toxic.
Not necessarily bad writing.
But just a path where Nazuka narrowed her world around one person

And I think the game KNOWS that, hence why it’s only in the bad endings.

And even though these endings exist, I don't think it necessarily means “this is her true desire," more so “this is a possible version of her under specific circumstances.”

We already see all the dominoes fall:

United Harvest is still in a fragile state and is in a constant damage control mode
Tyrant loses the pawn/bishop seal of grace powers entirely, thus making them stay in Philae permanently
They stay behind to help with UH, while New Star Guild still searches for the mystery abt their orphanage
Most likely prompting Nazuka to go "Well, someone has to step in to support them,"

The same devoted and loyal personality is there....just at the cost of making Nazuka her own person. She even invites the Tyrant to go trek Monoliths with her in their free time, something that I know Nazuka still loves doing. And since these are explicitly BAD endings, the narrative framing matters. And what I think it's saying is basically “If the story stagnates in Philae, people stop growing.”

That includes Nazuka. That includes Tyrant. That includes United Harvest. Everything just becomes smaller and more enclosed

And honestly, I do feel like it was a subtle joke towards fans that were rolling their eyes at "I'm STILL in Philae?!", just...down a really dark path

So yeah, obviously it's just my opinion, but I thought I'd make this for fun and go off of what I do know from canon

So far, only Firenze and Otaha have been canonically called 'beautiful/charming' in universe. In the Stella Sora comic, M.Tyrant flat out says Otaha is beautiful and in her affinity story, she seems to be well known among locals. Similar to FIrenze's affinity story, she's able to captivate a lot of ppl with her charming aura

I was iffy on where to put Wraith and Mystique, since I can see them oscillating between the first and second categories. Mystique is a reporter, can flirt/tease a bit, and seems pretty social. She does seem pretty charming as well. Wraith...I just feel like the game kinda teeters between having Wraith canonically attractive, mostly because Tyrant can't stop thinking abt her body in her affinity story, but then chalks it up to "No, I'm thinking this way since she's always trying to take her clothes off!". I just think it may be worth noting still

For the third category, Nazuka is semi-famous in Philae, but more so for protecting the camp and being a powerful trekker. >!Bernina did tease Tyrant saying 'a cute girl' visits them in their prison cell in one of chapter 7 bad endings, but that felt more tongue-in-cheek than anything!<. Still, I think it's worth an implication of her looks more or less. For Coronis and Chitose, this is mostly based off of Tyrant saying they like their alt outfits (Springseek Coronis and Chitose's Miko outfit). Though, the former was more of Tyrant not being able to keep their eyes off her. Just thought it's worth mentioning. Flora is able to keep a pretty decent popularity through shows, but I also think her looks play in part in putting on good shows, tbh. Gerie....yeah, I just feel like there are some undertones of her being attractive in universe

The fourth category is really just ppl I couldn't find examples that I can overanalyze (:P) about them being attractive. You can argue Laru should be in the third category cause Tyrant said her Snowish festival outfit looked cute on her, but it was pretty clear that was more of a tease. Still, with how Minova is able to keep Ashwind Clan under control, Noya being friendly and cheerful (and her affinity story ends with a 'vehicle guy' taking a liking to her, Canace being a popular professor, and Shia being a pretty warm person, I put them in a category of having some admiers. Fuyuka and Freesia...well, I'm just biased, lol. But I didn't really feel right putting them in the fifth category

As for the fifth category, this is mostly just me not really seeing them having ppl crush on them, just appearing normal. There wasn't anything noteworthy in TNT or their affinity stories that made me go "Hm, I can see ppl having a crush on them"

And I just put my children in the sixth category :P
