Kudos if you have anxiety and are doing this braces thing

My anxiety was so severe around getting braces and has calmed down a bit since getting them on, but every day I’m worried something is going to go wrong and thinking about the what-ifs. Especially when there’s so much negativity online. I’m just trying to make it through the end of this without losing my mind! And I’m only one month in 😅

Swelling behind most crooked tooth

I’m almost a month into my braces and things have been mostly uneventful except that I noticed swelling in the back of my tooth a few days ago. It’s only behind my tooth that was the most crooked and seems to be moving a bit.

I’ve been meticulously flossing, water flossing, electric brushing 3x a day, rinsing thoroughly whenever I eat and using interdental brushes.

I also just started salt water rinses.

Is it possible my gum is just angry from moving in that tight crooked area? Either way I’m going to try being even more thorough in that area when I floss etc. but hoping for reassurance.

At what point to I contact my dentist/ortho?
