Autotrol 268/460i softener

I have owned this softener for about 15years.

4 years ago I re bedded the resin tank and rebuilt the valve head.

I have recently noticed the water dosent seem as soft, not to the point that getting spots on dishes but soaps not as sudzy and water dosent seem as soft washing hands and showers.

I manually regenerate it yesterday and didnt seem to help much. During regen, it did pull the brine tank empty and refilled at the end. There also is no salt bridge.Today I took the injector out to look at it and it was clear, took the salt meter plug out and it was clean, pulled the plug for the regen and the ball in it was soft(normal) and clean. I did pull the screen also and that was really dirty. I cleaned it and reinstalled it, purged the air from the system and put it back into service. Going to do another regeneration tonight to see if cleaning the screen made a difference. I did notice the resin level seems higher in the resin tank than it used to be. Probably 2-3 inches higher(I marked the tank when I re bedded to keep an eye on it for resin loss)

My question is can just a dirty screen cause water to not be as soft even if it pulled all the brine from the tank? Or will i probably have to re bed the resin tank already?. We dont have alot of chlorine in our city water.

Thanks for replies.

This bothers me.. the mounting nut for the wheel bracket is very tight, and the axle bolt is properly tightened. The wheels wiggle a bit and are toe out.. my toro was like this and I just took wheel off and put the axle bolt back in and bent the mounting bracket then replaced the wheel and all was aligned. I dont want to do that to this with the bracket mounted to plastic.

Or are all like this?

Picked up a 2 season old hrx216 today. Elderly couple wanted to make the switch to an electric mower. Picked this up for $200! Runs great and great shape. Clean oil, sharp blades good condition belt, no vibrations. I cant believe the power and torque on this motor.

I was thinking about installing a fuel filter on it as a security measure incase any dirt gets into the tank while filling. Had that happen on an older mower of mine and had to stop and clean out the tank and carb.
