Tourist trap shops outside Golden Temple are giving a bad impression of Amritsar

The shops outside Golden Temple selling kulfi and badam shakes are honestly overrated and overpriced for the quality they give.

They usually start preparing the kulfi right in front of you which makes tourists think it’s something very special or premium, but the taste and quality don’t really match the price. ₹60 for a kulfi and ₹80 for a badam shake would still make sense if the quality was good, but most of the time it’s disappointing.

As someone from Punjab, I genuinely wonder what people visiting Amritsar from other states or countries think after trying these places. Amritsar is known for amazing food, but these shops can easily leave visitors with the wrong impression.
