We began dismantling half of our layout in October 2023 due to issues with egress, and after months of planning and coordination with the school, we’ve now completed most of the upper level of benchwork and track for our new model railroad. Here are photos from both the teardown and the rebuild.
Our layout now supports a higher capacity for trains, features more realistic signaling, and more space to model downtown Rochester. We’re currently planning to add a second deck which will model Western New York, beneath the existing table, which will give us even more track to operate trains on.
We’re also celebrating our 30th anniversary with a special dinner. The final photo features club members and alumni dating all the way back to 1996. Come visit us during Brick City Weekend in October !
