Recos for learning basic X's & O's?
Trying to level up my parent-coaching -- I have a decent amount of confidence in my ability to coach individual basic skills to the boys' 10U and 12U set (in a non-hotbed area).
But, other than just being able to identify a basic offensive formation, what I can't do well is look at the opposition, understand what kind of scheme they are running, and know how to adjust to it. So I'd love to educate myself more on basic team strategy.
I also think just getting more literate at reading the field will make watching NCAA and PLL a lot more fun.
My favorite way to learn is watching coaches marking up game film, and running the same play over and over again to break down what everyone is doing.
I've definitely seen some stuff online -- a fair amount of PowLax and a smattering of GLE, First Class, USA Lacrosse, Lax Goalie Rat, and a few others -- but haven't done much of a deep dive on anything.
From online videos, to books, to paid services, to in-person coaching clinics -- anyone have some preferred resources?
