Matty isn’t the first guy that she had to break up with because her label/fans didn’t approve of him

People say they dated, some say they didn’t. Most of what happened to them are just speculations but Ashley Tisdale (Johnson’s ex) did share a story about him breaking up with her and confirming (whether intentionally or not) that the song “Dear John” was about him. A lot of ppl also think that some songs in Speak Now & Fearless is about him instead of Joe Jonas.
I kinda believe that it’s true that they date. I feel have a lot of similarities when it comes to her relationship with Matty. While he *allegedly* dated Taylor when she was starting her career, her label (mostly likely her parents) didn’t want them to be public because it would Taylor’s reputation of being this sweet, innocent, pure country girl image if it was found out she was dating a dude from a emo/rock band 4 years her senior who is into alcohol and drugs. For Matty, she was in her prime! But… she just got out from a long relationship and jumped aboard to the next one. This time, her fans didn’t approve of the relationship. ‘she was too good for him’ ‘he’s a racist’ ‘alcoholic and dr*g user’ as they say. Matty eventually has to dump her bc it was affecting his mental health.
She really has a type if u ask me.

2010 - Both of the wrote “If this was a Movie” for Speak Now Album
