How difficult is this to resolve? Printer error message said requires Epson authorized repair.

HP "Setup cartridges". Do I have to use them in new machine?
Considering a HP AIO printer (9125e). It comes with "Setup cartridges".
Do I have to use these in a new HP printer? Or can I just use a new set of cartridges, purchased separately?
And do I have to enroll in Instant Ink to use these "Setup cartridges"? (I think not, but just checking).
I have been down the Instant Ink road once before and I do not want to enroll, regardless of any free offer.
