I am so new to this

Please tell me how to deal with all of this! I just started gonal-f, menapour, and provera (had been in it for three months for endometrial cancer). When I took my first dose last night I immediately got sick. I started to get super nauseous about an hour afterwards. Today I have yet to keep anything down. I’ll I have had is a granola bar (nothing in it), and Powerade. Did this happen to you? If so what did you do for your nausea? And when did your severe symptoms dissipate? Did it get easier? No one in my family has done this, and no one from my clinic seems to want to help me. Thank you!

If you could describe your pain/discomfort, or rather any symptoms that you experience beyond what is on google or from a physician, what would those be? Also, what do you wish your physician could understand most about your Adenomyosis? (Examples, symptoms, life complications, relationship issues, discomfort, mental heath, etc).

I feel so drained everyone. I feel so defeated. I have been battling my insurance company for over five months trying to get my infertility treatments covered, but they keep delaying me left and right. Saying things like “ohhh yeahhh we got your medical necessity appeal letter from your physician’s office, but it got rerouted to some department. So that will most likely take a few days to figured out where it went. But don’t worry we will fine it!” When they were supposed to have given me an answer about my coverage situation, two weeks ago. Now a supervisor is on the case they don’t know where my appeal letter went to and said “not to worry! I’ll get an answer back to you by Friday’s time” well Friday came and went. No answers. And she said, “well I’m a woman too so I know what kind of pain you’re going through. So not to worry I’ll let my supervisor know that you’re having period pain.” I said “no I’m having cancer pain, it’s way different than just “period pain”” smh. I guess I need representation because they have delayed my endo cancer hysterectomy and infertility now four times. Any suggestions are always welcomed. Otherwise, I feel like my deep depression (which I haven’t had since high school, now 33) is unfortunately creeping upon me and I really, really do not want to deal with that again. Oh and my doctor doesn’t seem to think anyone needs help with pain because they state this type of cancer doesn’t cause it to occur 🙄 ummm yeah. I’m so drained. And now I have to wait until Wednesday at the earliest to hear from my insurance co. They said a sup. has 72 hours to get back to me. I told them “yeah right just like they were supposed to have a determination after 72 hours after receiving my doctors appeal letter yet you all “lost” that” ugh guys I just need some encouragement and done cancer friends who get this.

This is my go to recipe for fresh homemade pasta. I have changed it over the years to account for dietary and other holistic needs. Feel free to switch up ingredients that fit your dietary needs as well! I use a kitchen-aid to mix my pasta, but feel free to use the counter top method, which will be noted at that point in the recipe. Also, this pasta is beginner friendly, however if you use an extruder or a pasta making machine I cannot verify the results since I only use my kitchen-aid pasta attachments.

Homemade pasta
Ingredients:
320g (may need more later) AP flour* see note
4 eggs, room temperature
1-2 pinches of salt (depending on personal taste) *see note
1-2 tablespoons of a good quality EVOO
Butter for final pasta product if wanted or evoo.

Directions for kitchen-aid method:

  1. Combine all ingredients into a kitchenaid mixing bowl with the dough hook attachment.
  2. Mix dough on a low setting until it forms a play dough consistency.
  3. Then you can either hand knead for 10 minutes on your countertop (with flour as needed to reduce sticking), or you can continue to mix the dough with the dough hook attachment in the kitchenaid for 5-7 minutes until the dough springs back when you press lightly with a finger into the dough. The dough should also look somewhat shiny and less dry. If your dough is too dry add a small drizzle of evoo to the dough and mix for one additional minute.
  4. Wrap (with cling or in a baggie) and rest your dough in the refrigerator or on the countertop for 30 minutes or up to one day.
  5. Allow the dough to come to almost room temperature with some coldness to the dough to help with cutting.
  6. Either cut dough with a sharp knife (being careful!) into shapes and designs that you like. Or use an attachment such as the kitchenaid pasta cutter to make the shapes that you prefer. I typically cut my dough into four pieces, then take each piece, flatten it, and put it through the number 1 (widest setting) on my pasta roller, then after each go through I change the number to 2, then to 3, and finally 4. I like a thinner pasta but you can go with whatever thickness that you prefer. If I make spaghetti like my photo, I will use the spaghetti attachment at number 3 speed on my mixer while allowing the pasta to run through it.
  7. After cutting your dough, make sure to sprinkle flour over the pasta and run your fingers throughout to allow the pasta to not stick to each other. I usually do this in a bowl with flour at the bottom to help keep the pasta from sticking together.
  8. In a large stock pot or larger pot, boil water. Add enough salt to salt the sea, as they say, to the water once it boils. Adding salt prior to boiling causes it to take longer to come to a boil.
  9. Boil pasta in batches for 2 minutes, taking out each batch and placing into a bowl with butter or evoo.
  10. Enjoy with your favorite pasta sauce or just as butter/evoo noodles!

Notes:
You can alternatively take out 100 grams of AP and replace it with semolina if you prefer semolina flour. Also, depending on how much moisture that might be in the air, I have found that I use about 50-100 grams of flour when mixing to get a dough like consistency.
The salt can be taken out if you need low sodium. Also, if you salt your water, which I suggest that in my recipe, you may find that the salted water is enough for you. So please feel free to make changes to the salt level if you want.

Please feel free at ask me questions if needed!

Hi everyone! How long did it take you to build a good client list or repeat orders? I am trying my hardest to stay positive, but could really use some encouragement on what you have found to be most successful. Also, if it helps, I make wedding announcement and wedding home decor glass shadow framed decals, it’s like a two for one art piece. Thanks!
