I'm trying to run GTA III from the "Grand Theft Auto: The Original Trilogy + The Definitive Edition Project Modpack" (FitGirl repack).

Problem:

When I launch gta3.exe, it shows up in Task Manager (uses CPU) but no game window appears. No error message when launching directly.

When I launch through the DEP launcher, I get:

"Unable to load rundll32exefix.asi. Error: 126"

"Unable to load SteamColouredCarfix.asi. Error: 126"

What I've already tried (long list, sorry):

- Installed Ultimate ASI Loader (32-bit) - dinput8.dll

- Tried renaming dinput8.dll to d3d8.dll, d3d9.dll, dsound.dll, version.dll

- Set compatibility mode (Windows 7, XP)

- Run as administrator

- Disabled fullscreen optimizations

- Override high DPI scaling (Application)

- Added commandline.txt with -windowed -width 640 -height 480

- Installed dgVoodoo2 (both D3D8.dll and D3D9.dll copied to game folder)

- Configured dgVoodooCpl.exe for Intel HD Graphics 515

- Installed SilentPatchIII.asi

- The missing .asi files (rundll32exefix.asi and SteamCarColourFix.asi) ARE in the scripts folder – they're not missing

- Added the entire GTA folder to Windows Defender exclusions

- Checked that the .asi files are not blocked (unblocked them in Properties)

- Reinstalled the repack 3-4 times (same result)

- Tried running without any ASI loader (renamed dinput8.dll to .backup) – still no window

System specs(extremely shitty I know 😭):

- Laptop with Intel HD Graphics 515 (integrated, no dedicated GPU)

- Intel Core m3-6Y30

- 16GB RAM

- Windows 11

Game path:

C:\Games\GTA - The Original Trilogy\GTA3\_locals\m5

What I'm asking:

Has anyone gotten the DEP modpack working on Intel HD Graphics 515 / similar low-end integrated GPU? Any specific settings, older version of dgVoodoo, or different ASI loader that worked for you?

I suspect the game is failing to initialize graphics – the process runs but the window never appears. Any help appreciated.
