On November 7, 1990, from ~7:00 PM to 10:20 PM, a gigantic metallic UFO, estimated 540 metres wide, silently hovered directly above Place Bonaventure / Hotel Bonaventure rooftop pool in downtown Montreal.

Dozens of witnesses, including hotel guests, staff, police officers (Cmdr. Robert Masson), and La Presse journalists who photographed it, watched as the craft projected intense beams of light downward.

Police ruled out reflections, confirmed no radar returns, and watched a cargo plane fly underneath it. The object remained nearly motionless for nearly three hours before drifting north into clouds.

Files were immediately classified Top Secret. Cmdr. Masson later stated he believed it was "not made by inhabitants of this planet." A scientific report backed a "huge physical object."
