Need some honest advice from IIEST seniors 🙏

I might get Civil at IIEST Shibpur, but my main interest is coding/programming and I want to go into tech/software roles in the future.

So I wanted to ask:

Is taking Civil at IIEST worth it if my interest is mainly in coding?
Do Civil students get opportunities to sit for tech placements?
Roughly what percentage of software companies allow core branches?
Are there seniors from Civil who cracked good tech roles/off-campus?
How hard is it to manage coding along with Civil academics there?
Or should I consider a partial double drop while taking Civil at IIEST Shibpur, considering my main interest is coding/tech?
