This house belonged to Italian immigrants who came to Fresno in 1895. It stood abandoned for many decades. It was landmark. Then around 2024 it was demolished for a new Costco that has not yet been built (I think it hasn't even been approved).

When I say it was a landmark, it was due in part to its proximity to a major rural intersection. When giving directions one might say: " when you turned off the main highway at Willow headed east, you'll pass an old boarded up house..."

The home was abandoned in the late 70's and got a reputation for being haunted and became the subject of local urban legends and trespassing aplenty. Popular with photographers and favorite for senior portrait's --- and did I mention, parties?
