UCLA won't let me switch majors-should I go elsewhere?

Hello, I am a prospective UCLA major who got in for sociology. For a while, I was teetering between my interest in sociology and biology. I decided to apply to the UC's as a sociology major just to get out of CC. After accepting the UCLA offer, I spoke to counselors about the potential of double majoring or maybe eventually switching majors to bio once I got the prereqs done. They said this is not possible due to a new policy in the life sciences department.

This past semester I have gotten really involved in the bio club at my school and realized I'm passionate about hands-on environmental work, and working with animals. Would it be better to rescind my confirmation to UCLA and try my luck switching to a bio major at Davis (I got into Davis and I hope it's not too late to undo my confirmation at UCLA)? Or should I attempt to minor in bio at UCLA and see if it gets me a career in the ecological field?

Wanting to switch to Biology major at UCLA

I got accepted into UCLA as a sociology major, but I've found after taking some classes at CC that I'm really passionate about biology. I know I can't declare a major change at orientation, especially as someone who's not in the life sciences department, but is there any way I could take prerequisite classes at UCLA and eventually declare a major change?

I'm worried the answer is no, but if there's any possible way to do this, either taking an extra year or double majoring, I'm willing to hear you out. I've taken Bio 1&2, Chem 50, Calc 2, and Phys 2AG already.
