The Big Kernel Lock (BKL) is going to be removed.

This is going to be, perhaps, one of the biggest architectural changes in the QNX 6.4 codebase. And the direction is the same as QNX 8 took.

QRV (QNX ported to RISC-V): Spacemit K3 demo? Should be possible!

Dear Spacemit! If you are reading this post, and if you would like to see r/QRV_OS running on your board -- please respond. The K3 board has a chance to become the first ultra-modern RISC-V system on which the QNX-derived OS is running ;)

Currently QRV runs on Unmatched (and under QEMU of course). Kernel and user-space Unix-like environment is up and running.

QRV FS: overcoming the biggest limitation

Currently, QRV FS (v1) has one very serious limitation: the maximum file size is 2 megabytes.

Version 2 of the filesystem will remedy that.

QRV 0.25-rc1 just recognized the NVMe on Unmatched, and printed partition list

Preparation for the filesystem-on-disk on full swing. This milestone is huge: MSI-X seems to be working. Some polishing is needed, though.

First version of devb-nvme is ready

It is readonly; it understands GPT partitions, and it's ready to be tested on real hardware (Unmatched).

That will be the v0.24 of our OS.
