BA denied my Silver twice despite a written extension and sufficient tier points
The tier point collection year ended and I was short of Silver. I contacted BA, and a customer service rep reviewed my account, calculated that I needed exactly 621 more tier points, and granted me a two-week written extension to April 14th to earn them, because they had forgotten to credit some of my flights (as I mentioned in previous reddit thread about earning the remains TP).
I earned 640 tier points by April 9th comfortably within the extension window.
BA has now denied my Silver upgrade twice, both times quoting my April 1st balance of 4,581, which is an incomplete amount.
That balance excluded several flights that were never properly credited (34 + 1,450 + 186 + 628 TPs).
Their own rep had already accounted for these when calculating the 621 gap. So they’re essentially ignoring their own math and their own written commitment.
I’ve cited the extension email directly in my appeal, and their response didn’t address it at all. I keep getting the same generic response. Every line I call keeps saying they can’t help me besides starting a new claim, where I keep running into the same problem.
What’s the best way to actually get this resolved? Is there a specific contact, escalation path, or anything else that’s worked for you?
TLDR: BA granted me a written extension to earn Silver, hit the target, now they’re contradicting their own math to deny it
