37F, my doctor wants to put me on a statin.

37F, my doctor wants to put me on a statin.

Is it worth attempting to get my LDL under control on my own? I'm relatively healthy -- vegetarian, don't smoke or drink. Could stand to exercise more and probably need to cut out more processed foods. Heart disease DOES run in my family, so maybe I should just bite the bullet. I did the Calcium Score Test about a year ago and received a 0. Don't know if that matters.

On 30 mg for two months. Sleep disturbances so doc moving me down to 20 mg. Will this kill the positive effects?

Question in title. I've had so many positive upsides taking this, but it has increased my night terrors (which I've struggled with my whole life), I think because of its long duration. Doc thinks lowering me to 20 mg might help, but I'm afraid of losing the positives (focus, task initiation, etc). Anyone find success on 20 mg?
