What’s the craziest thing someone did at work and somehow survived HR?

Witnessed a colleague work a second job on government equipment and government time. Dude never got caught and retired happily ever after.

I'm sure there's crazier.

What have you seen in your time here?

For those who’ve left the IRS, or have seen colleagues make the jump, how does employability tend to compare across the major divisions (LBI, SB/SE, TE/GE, Appeals, Counsel)?

I’m currently in an LBI general compliance role. I don’t dislike it, but I’m not especially passionate about it either. Part of me keeps wondering whether I should have stayed in the private sector or pursued a law degree with the goal of moving into Counsel or Appeals.

Curious to hear about other's experiences or perspectives.
