A Midsummer Night's Rave (2002)

One of many 2000s Shakespeare teen adaptations, this one is aimed at the rave culture. Almost every face is recognizable as a 00s teen comedy side character, plus Carrie Fisher for a few seconds. It's like the movie Go mashed with Shakespeare.

I first watched this in the early Oughts during my raver phase, and it was one of those movies that went on repeat. Rewatching after 20+ years, it's funny how I can still quote certain lines. Puck, as an ecstasy dealer, was still one of my favorite characters. Also something I've always remembered is how they integrated Nick turning into an ass like the source material.

It's a fun movie with a good electronic soundtrack constantly playing. Very low budget, but that's how the rave scene was in those days.
