Hoi,

  • Hoe vinden jullie zelf nieuwe frituren? Word-of-mouth, Google, ergens anders?

Eerlijke meningen welkom.

Hey everyone, sharing what I've been building because I'd love feedback from this community.

Two months ago I asked my housemates "anyone got an app idea?" One of them said "an app to rate fries shops". I started building that night.

The premise: in Belgium we have around 4500 fries shops and they're a serious part of culture. But existing review platforms (Google, TripAdvisor) give you 4 stars and 3 generic words. That tells you nothing about whether the actual fries were any good.

So I built "Friturisme". You check in at a fries shop, select what you ordered, and rate separately on multiple categories: fries, burger, snacks, sauces, service, price-quality, and an "authenticity" score. Categories appear dynamically: didn't order a burger, you don't see that score.

Tech stack:

  • Expo (React Native) for iOS + Android
  • Supabase for everything backend (Postgres, Auth, Storage)
  • NativeWind for styling
  • EAS Build for deployments

What's worked:

  • Launching iOS quietly first (March), then Android (end of April)
  • Going from 0 to 145 users purely through Instagram + TikTok content
  • Having a clear, opinionated brand voice rather than generic "review app" feel

What I'm still figuring out:

  • B2B model: I want shop owners to claim their pages and pay €19/month for Pro features (own photos, menu, respond to reviews). Building this now.
  • Discovery UX: thinking about a Tinder-style swipe to discover new shops. Not sure if it's gimmicky or actually useful.
  • Authenticity score: what does "this place feels real" actually mean as a measurable thing? Currently it's just user perception but I want it more grounded.

App is live but not perfect. Happy to share links if anyone wants to check it out, but more interested in feedback on the model and approach.
