1st grader has fallen behind due to homelessness, how do I catch him back up?

Im a single mom with a 7yr old incredibly brilliant little boy. He’s in 1st grade, but we had a pretty traumatic year and did not end up attending school due to moving multiple states and homelessness. I tried really hard at home through the year with minimal resources but due to me having learning disabilities and dyslexia, I’m doing a terrible job.

He’s going back to public school in the fall, we’re a bit more stable and no longer homeless. I want to have him reading and a better grasp on math by the time school starts in August- even if he has to redo the first grade over.

What do I do? Do I look for an affordable tutor? Is there a program or books or games that help? I’m so out of my league here. I just need some help, or some direction. I would love to find him a reading tutor if possible, but I don’t have any clue where to start with these things. I feel like such a failure, I’m so disappointed with myself for failing him and being so overwhelmed with it all.

How can I help him? Where do I start?
