Can anyone confirm what to expect for the application process?

I called my local hall (local 68 - Denver) and asked about the process. They don’t open applications up until sometime in May. All I was told is applications will open, I will submit an application with personal documents like ssn card, transcripts, etc. and then there will be a test I have to take.

From browsing in here, it looks like I’ll definitely need to brush up on math I haven’t done since I was in high school.

What else do I need to be aware of/prepare for to give myself the best shot of getting through?

Any insight you all have from your applications would be super helpful.
