South Shore Line App: Schedules display update
First image: the recent update to the "Schedules" part of the SSL app. It's so awful I just assumed it was temporary since they probably just wanted to use the existing webpage because of the new corridor and schedule updates—I get it, easier to update. I reached out and asked and they said that it was not a temporary change, it was intended as permanent. It's the same on iOS and Android.
Second image: what the schedule previously looked like. This is what it's been for the 8+ years I've used it and it's a really clear and efficient display.
Previously you could see most of the train times for the day at a glance, in one screen, helpful for when you are planning your schedule. Now you can see one or two train times and scroll through them all to figure out the schedule. It seems lazy to not at least make a similar layout if they need to point to a webpage for update efficiency. But it's literally just part of the schedule page from the SSL site. They are already hosting a dedicated page for it.
Is the update an improvement in your opinion? Am I missing something?
They do respond to feedback so if it's as maddening to you as it is to me, please send them feedback in the app: Menu > More > Submit a report
