Oregon Zoo’s Male Southern Lion “Zawadi” Dies at the Age of 18

Zawadi, the Oregon Zoo’s 600lb male Southern lion, has died of natural causes after an incredible 18 year journey. He was born in the San Diego Zoo in 2007 and has lived in the Oregon Zoo since 2009. He was one of the oldest living lions in North America.
