I SEARCH OF A JC CENTER WITH A BETTER TECH A+ TEACHER
I've been at the Dayton Job Corps for some time now, and I've learned from observing and talking to other students who have been in the IT field longer than I have. Our current teacher isn't very hands-on, and the focus has shifted mainly to online coursework. We're primarily watching videos, reading assignments, and taking small tests in between.
From my conversations with other students, I've learned that the last teacher (who I believe left just a couple of months ago) was much more hands-on. They had a board with various computer parts for us to learn from/interact with, and we actually built computers and figured out what was wrong with them in order to then fix them.
Also, our current teacher has told us that we need to complete Google Support and MOS certifications first before engaging in any actual hands-on projects or assignments.
So, back to the title, I would love anyone's input on this. Is your teacher more hands-on? If so, which Job Corps center are you at?
*edit: as you may tell, I'm a visual and Kinesthetic type of learner. and i feel like im losing the spark. Most of us sleep in here and he just doesn't care or say much of anything to us for that matter
