25F 1.5 years post stroke, follow up MRA results is concerning me, will you please help me. Thank you.
Hello!
25F, 100kg and I had suffered from an ischemic stroke back in July 2024. I posted here before regarding that stroke. MRA back then showed that it was due to a dissection in my right vertebral artery.
I'm feeling better now, although still suffering from reduced dexterity in my right side of the body, especially my hands and arms. The right side of my body also feels "numb and heavy" if that makes sense.
Fast forward to now, I had a follow up MRA done about a month ago to see how things are. My report looks a bit concerning to me and I'm very scared. The MRA done in 2024 had not mentioned anything about internal carotid artery stenosis.
I'm wondering how severe this is and how worried I should be. I'm scared about another stroke happening. I have to make an appointment with my GP but the next available appointment is not for weeks, so any further investigations will have to wait for a long time as well. I'm hoping to have some fears calmed and any information you might be able to offer me.
How serious is this stenosis and am I at risk of another stroke? My cholesterol and LDL levels are at a good range for a year now. Been taking clopidogrel and atorvastatin for a year. What can be the cause of this stenosis and possible dissection again?
Thank you so much.
