When starting a new project, would you???

Designers using Framer:

When starting a new project, would you:
A) Build everything from scratch in Framer
B) Use a free template as a base

Context:
I’m building a Framer template and considering using a template just to skip the basic setup and move faster.

I’ll fully customize it (everything); nothing will be copied.

But I’m unsure…

Does starting from a template feel like cheating to you or just being productive, or is it okay? I mean, is it illegal or what?

What would you do, and why?

I’m trying to make my first $1 with Framer templates, Help a brother out!💙

Trying to figure out which Framer templates actually make money (starting from 0)

I just started with Framer and trying to get to my first template sale.

Not overthinking too much yet, just trying to understand what actually works in real life vs what looks good on paper.

I’ve seen a lot of different niches floating around (SaaS, portfolios, AI, agencies, etc.) but honestly it’s kinda confusing to know what actually converts.

So I made a quick form to get inputs from people who’ve actually sold templates:

– which niches are actually working right now
– how you picked yours
– what actually makes a template sell
– mistakes beginners usually make

If you’ve done this before, would really appreciate your thoughts:

That’s it. thanks in advance 🙌
