Let me start by saying I am not diagnosed with bipolar or schizophrenia. I have anxiety and depression. My psychiatrist put me on Caplyta (had allergic reaction), Abilify (didn’t sleep all night and gave me terrible anxiety), Seroquel (it gave me terrible brain fog and it made my depression worse) and now Latuda 20mg. The first time I took it at bedtime with 350 cals. I didn’t sleep all night. I was wide awake. Next day I took it at 9:30 after breakfast. Still didn’t sleep all night. Called the clinic so now the doctor wanted me to take 40mg along with 600mg of Trileptal 2 hours before bedtime. I’m terrified to do this because of the possible side effects but she explained that just because 20mg made me wide awake it doesn’t mean that 40mg will make the insomnia worse. She said 40mg will hit different receptors in the brain which hopefully will make me sleep. I have had terrible anxiety since yesterday and today is bad too and I’m guessing Latuda is causing this.

Is there anyone here who was in the same situation and did taking 40mg (from 20) fix you? I have been switching medications since January (I was on Lexapro and Buspar prior to all this) and I’m starting to lose hope. Yesterday I told my husband that I feel like the only way out is death. I just don’t know what to do anymore. I have 2 young children and I can’t take care of them if I feel like crap. Please help me!
