Any sighting of the pro straps?

Bosch radios and Speakers

I am going to preface this by just saying I'm a bit of a nutter.

I was looking around buy n sell and i seen Bosch radio i was interested in so i headed over to Amazon to see the list price... not in stock.

Check some retailers ... ok this is an old model info... lets go see whats new. Well whats new isn't in my area... so lets search the German Site.... wait.... a Global site with direct links??> Lets check all the radios on offer everywhere!

So here is the list of countries that sell radios and speakers in brackets is the number of variants. This info is accurate today (as in this is what was on the sites)... no idea what tomorrow has in store.

OK so now that thats over....

The main image is the long out of date PB10-CD model that just has a great retro style with a CD player (feels so ancient)... being on the older stem batteries so (to me) this model could only be a shed radio these days.

I have an older Cube 360 model.... with out direct searching my model its pretty hard to find info.... this seems to be common with many things on the modern internet and i hate it... this radio had SD card, Satellite radio link am/fm, USB, Aux, the GFCI plugs but no blue tooth... i was hoping for an upgrade. Just as an aside there seem to be many models that are hard to track down info on... for instance there was a lesser model of the 360DC that had no GFCI and smaller speakers.

There is still a cube available in N America GPB18V-5CN and at least 2 others worldwide PRO GPB 18V-5 C and PRO GPB 18V-5 SC. The 5C seems the weakest choice as it loses AM radio that 5CN hs and the Dab+ that the 5SC has. Its worth noting that no model has all features and none have USBC fast charging. I will may check other regions and update if i find other models but the several i did not at seemed to have no other models.

I found this neat video with a toy Bosch Mini GML. Cute.

The other currently available in my region units are the hexagon Boom boxes.

I dislike the battery placement and battery doors in general.

One model N America:

- GPB18V-2CN

Four models EU:

- PRO GPB 18V-2 C

- PRO GPB 18V-2 SC

- PRO GPB 18V-3 C

- PRO GPB 18V-3 SC

All have blue tooth

Both the 2 and 3 EU models have Multi speaker (connect two speakers to one phone for stereo) Unfortunately no such mention for North America.

Again the CN model has AM/FM, C models are the weakest with no AM or Dab+, SC models are FM/Dab+

The 2 to 3 model change has the 3 gaining USB-C for charging of phones (no watts listed) and power delivery (run the radio but not charge the battery). They also appears to be a boost in speaker wattage from 15 to 20 but the wording is strange. One lists as 15watt amp the other as 10w/speaker

The 2SC to the 3SC weirdly drops from 8 Dab+ presets to 4.

The other Ocean Crossing radio is the older small front facing AM/FM/Aux only radio

GML - Soundboxx AKA PB180 This is the size i want. Just needs USBc Charging and Bluetooth maybe a bit more power to the speakers. The battery placement allow all sizes of battery. Why Bosch designs one offs then starts from scratch is beyond me... this is a great size for a take along radio. Power cable is a silly add on for a unit that doesn't charge and just wastes money.

The 2 current Big Boy futuristic boom boxes are not available in N America and dont seem to be headed this way.

PRO GPB 18V-6 C - Very surprisingly no Radio no Dab+, USB and Bluetooth only

PRO GPB 18V-6 SRC - Same wattage just a roll cage and the missing FM and Dab+ modes

I think both of these seem like a bad deal, i also think making two is just silly (or three it they make one for NA). Just make the better one and get on with it, go crazy do AM/FM and Dab+. It would be nice to see the continuation of GFCI plugs and would have been very cool to make the rear side a triple fast charger... then maybe it would be as bad ass as its trying to look.

Last on my list is Speaker only (that last one snuck in)

PRO GPB 18V-1 C two flavours, one with back panel one with out... same model number it seems.

11w, USB-C device charge port/power delivery, Multispeaker

I mean, its OK but again the PB180 with the same feature set would still be my choice... i dislike this style format. Smaller may be better for multispeaker.

The last speaker was a freebie. Its a Bosch Branded JBL ... i have 2 similar ones. They are pretty good, they charge fast, last hours, and generally are much cheaper than anything listed here. and it all i wanted was a speaker this would likely be the option

So anyway, there's 3 hours of my life

If you know of other Bosch speakers i would love to have them posted.

enjoy
