The Witch and the Witchhunter

I kinda feel this outfit fits both, lol. Trying it out today for the first time, I think it came out cool.

I am putting this as serious in case people don't want to get baffled in their beautiful day, lol.

The new entry in the Heroes of Might and Magic franchise dropped a few days ago and there are a lot of opinions on it already. One person (who is most certainly a guy, though they hide behind an anon account on FB) had just the most insane take - that the game is "woke". So I asked what about it is woke and I present to you some of the arguments:

Conservatives Fear This One Thing

There is one cute creature in the game. I noticed that in general the very serious men of the internet are hating on anything even resembling cute in the game since apparently HOMM is a very serious and dark fantasy (not even a fantasy but how would they know). Not the dragon in the original HOMM looking like this:

Such a Dark Fantasy

  1. There is an elf in the campaign that is, and I quote, "probably trans". An elf, you all. An elf is androgenous, the humanity! I cannot find the pic easily but you can imagine a stereotypical-looking dark elf with long hair. So elves are woke now as well by default, I guess.

Edit: Screenshotted him from my own campaign:

Fancy Elf Inspires Feelings

  1. Lastly, the argument that sent me on a spiral, and I will quote his own comment for this one:

" i just noticed Peasant units carry 'cute' pig under one arm... On battlefield... why... just why... And yeah more I will play more details like this kills the vibe... Seeing crap like this makes me think that best way to play this game is while holding your teddy bear and enjoying vegan coffe with almond 'milk'..."

The New Woke Just Dropped

I hope you at least had a laugh. I decided to stop arguing with insanity and with somebody who clearly does not love the HOMM games. I shall long remember the man with a pig being woke, you can bet on that one...

Hey all, how did you find the trailer for this game? I think it has very strong Witcher 3 vibes and I like the overall look and vibe but the main character is pretty much John Dawnwalker, lol. I know it's way too early to judge the story so I am holding on hope it would have twists and turns. It seems like there will be only one MC, though. I am hoping it will be a good game since I would love to play something similar to The Witcher.

What are your thoughts? Did the trailer win you over? Are you excited?
