How many scrips are ideal for a long-term "Stock SIP" in NEPSE?
I’m planning to start a long-term SIP, but instead of going through a Mutual Fund, I want to manually buy individual fundamentally strong stocks every month around 10k-20k.
I’m confused about how many different companies I should pick to balance risk and returns. A. If I pick too many (10+), my capital gets spread too thin and tracking becomes a headache. B. If I pick too few (1-2), the risk is too high if that specific sector underperforms.
For those who are doing manual SIPs :
- How many scrips do you currently hold for the long term?
- Is it better to stick to one solid Commercial Bank and one high-yield Hydro/Manufacturing, or should I diversify across 5+ sectors?
- What’s your strategy for monthly buying, do you buy all of them every month, or rotate?
